The theme portal has been expanded to support a "New Theme" tab. Here, you can define a new name, description, and select the id for a newly created theme. If you are not sure of the id you wish to use, the system can suggest one for you. In addition, you can request that the custom laf directories (both public and private) be created as well. Empty shell files for custom-pre.var and custom-post.var can also be created. Theme creation will verify that the desired theme name is not currently in use and ensures that there is no conflict with the theme id. After creation, the theme file and its supporting directories in public/private laf are visible via the SiteAdmin files tab. The new theme can also now be selected as the active theme via the theme portal. Activating this feature requires new jars, a new portal.xml properties file, and a new id5.xml. You will also need to reinstall id32 out of PrepareSite. The portal.xml file controls which directories and files are created, and contains the minimal setting to write into the theme definition itself. The upgrade has been deployed to the A05 production site.
