NOTE: THESE NOTES ARE ROUGH... JUST NEEDED TO CAPTURE THE BASICS. WILL CLEAN UP LATER ONCE WE HAVE THIS PROCESS FINALIZED. Here are the basics.

  1. You'll need to override the NEWS view in your theme. There is sample code in id2.xml. You can also view the theme for spectrumplaticsgroup.com or resultsplussoftware.com for examples.
  2. Set html-news-mode to "list". This forces news to generate in list mode.
  3. Override textthtml-news as needed. By default, the list mode processing will generate a link to the target page (via a jumplink) and then links to the first n number of items in the page or innerpage that the jump link targets. You may not want the link to the target page to display.
  4. Add one or more jumplinks to your news section that point to pages or innerpages on the site that contain sub pages that you referenced through links in the news section on the home page.
